چکیده

The INFN LNS Superconducting Cyclotron has been operating for almost 20 years. Several beams are currently accelerated and delivered, allowing for a wide variety of experimental activity to be carried out. In addition, clinical activity is regularly accomplished: over 11 years of proton-therapy of the eye pathologies, around 300 patients have been treated. This has stimulated a growing number of interdisciplinary experiments in the field of radiobiology and dosimetry. On the side of nuclear physics, a significant achievement is the production of radioactive beams: several rare isotopes are produced mainly exploiting the in-flight fragmentation method. The development activity carried out on several components of the user oriented facility will be described. THE SUPERCONDUCTING CYCLOTRON The LNS Superconducting Cyclotron is a three sectors compact machine [1], see the median plane in Fig. 1. DDS-based multiple frequencies generator for the RF systems at INFN-LNS

On the latest accelerated beams, all the RF systems, the axial buncher [2], the three RF cavities of the superconducting cyclotron [7] and the high energy chopper [2], have been driven from the DDS generator. The phase stability, between these components of the RF System [3], is stable in order to ensure the stability on the extracted and choppered beam. With this new generator based on the Dir...

The radioisotope 67Ga (T 1/2 = 78 h) in extensively used as single photon marker for detecting the presence [Persian]

The radioisotope 67Ga (T 1/2 = 78 h) in extensively used as single photon marker for detecting the presence of malignancy and the diagnosis of inflammatory diseases. The high tumor specificity of carrier-free 67Ga make it one of the most interesting radionuclides in nuclear medicine for in vivo scanning studies. 67Ga is a cyclotron produced radioisotopes and is one of the radiopharmaceuti...

Configurable 1 MeV Test Stand Cyclotron for High Intensity Injection System Development

In order to study and optimize the ion source and injection system of our multiple cyclotron products, Best Cyclotron Systems Inc. (BCSI) has assembled in its Vancouver office a 1 MeV cyclotron development platform. To accommodate different injection line configurations, the main magnet median plane is vertically oriented and rail mounted which also allows easy access to the inner components. I...
